A Week of Wonder at Relay Children’s Center

At Relay Children’s Center, every week brings something new — and this one was full of tiny legs, big discoveries, and even bigger smiles! 🐞🦋

Our students explored the fascinating world of bugs and insects, learning how to observe them, identify them, and even create buggy-inspired art. This came right after last week’s beautiful exploration of butterflies, where we learned about the life cycle and are now eagerly waiting for our very own caterpillars to cocoon and emerge as butterflies. When the time comes, we’ll celebrate by setting them free together! Stay tuned for pictures of this miraculous event.

As always, our classrooms were alive with curiosity, creativity, and kindness. The children practiced important social skills like sharing, taking turns, and using gentle hands — all while diving into hands-on activities that connect learning with joy.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to welcome a brand new theme next week: The Seasons! We’ll be exploring weather, nature changes, and how the world around us shifts through the year — all in playful, age-appropriate ways.

As summer approaches, the excitement continues to build. Our Summer Program will be packed with outdoor exploration, a live animal show with reptile enthusiast Keith Dorsey, a presentation from Goldfish Swim School of Columbia, and so much more!

We also want to take a moment to thank the incredible community that supports us:- A huge shout-out to Arbutus Little League for being such a wonderful community partner.- And to Cheryl Dennis, whose kindness and green thumb have absolutely transformed our outdoor spaces — we are so grateful.

Enrollment for our Summer Program is still open — but spots are going fast! Registration for the 2025–2026 school year is also underway.
